I used to only buy one brand of dish soap because it was well-known for cutting grease on dishes. It always worked well so I had a whole pantry full of the stuff. But when my son was born, I started to think about all of the ingredients in the soap that would be transferred to his bottles and the breast pump pieces and I grew concerned. I spoke to a friend and switched to Seventh Gen dish liquid and I'm so happy. I love the lemon scent and I'm amazed that the dishes come out clean with no grease or residue. I ended up donating my old stock pile to our animal shelter and now I'm starting a new stock pile of Seventh Gen!

My wife and I have been using this product for 3 weeks to clean baby bottles and nursing supplies. I have had a very dramatic sensitivity to fragrances as propylene glycol in the past, so this seemed like a good product to try.

However, after using this product for 3 weeks, my hands began to erupt with blisters and this can only be attributed to this product, as no other products in our home have changed. We use non fragrance laundry detergent, non fragrance soap and shampoo, and I use no other cleaning products without glove on my hands.

The synthetic preservatives are most likely to blame, but I am performing a path test to determine this for sure.

I assume that this product would be fine for most people out there - but if you have a high sensitivity to propylene glycol, I'd would stay far away from this product. Very disappointing.

We will stay on the lookout for something that is truly allergy-free. In the meantime, I have to now manage this breakout to keep it in check - which could take weeks or months.

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I was looking for a product that was natural to clean my daughter's bottles with. I came across this during a search and let me say I LOVE IT! Not only does it smell nice, but it also cleans the bottles better than any other dish soap I have used. I am very pleased to be able to have something so wonderful to use for my daughter. 10/10 I recommend this to everyone.

Dishwasher Liquid

By

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I've been using the dishwasher liquid for months now. I no longer have the white powdered residue that Cascade left on my glasses. Dishes come out very clean. Very impressed! My rating will be on the dishwasher liquid.
However, I've been using the Dishwashing liquid and discovered it's what is clogging my kitchen sink drain. It created a clear slimy like film in the backup. I've not had a clogged kitchen drain in years. I'm not sure what's in it that would cause that.....

Awesome Cleaning Power!

By

from Olathe, KS

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I love, love, love this dish soap! I am making an effort to use chemical-free products. I tried a different brand first and was not pleased with it at all - left grease on dishes and didn't rinse off well at all. Tried Seventh Generation dish soap and was blown away! Cleaned my dishes like a champ (including bacon grease)! Love the scent and it rinses off the dishes very well!

Free and Clear Dish Liquid Is So Good!

By

from Kansas

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I really am attached to this dish liquid for hand washing dishes. It cleans effectively without harming the skin on my hands. Most dish liquids are far too harsh for my skin. I simply don't want to put on gloves every time I wash a dish or two, so I appreciate having that choice. It does not have any scent, which I generally prefer for daily use. It is better for the environment than typical dish liquids, and works better than any other more natural dish detergent I have tried.

Broke down and spent a little extra hoping that this product was all it claimed to be. Within days my hands were dried out and and feeling very much like velcro. Not even half way through the bottle, never again!

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I think the seventh generation dish liquid is a great product. I prefer to use products that are safe for the environment, and I have hard water and the liquid soap still makes a rich suds compared to other natural soaps. I enjoy the scent of the lavender, also.

Great for cleaning home brew equipment and more

By

from Highlands Ranch, CO, United States

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

Great for cleaning home brewing equipment, cast iron pans & deep fryer

I needed a fragrance free dish soap to clean my carboys, buckets, vacuum breaks, racking cane and the like. Seventh Generation Free & Clear was the only one that I found that was fragrance free, so I gave it a shot.

Works great cleaning everything with little or no residue and doesn't leave any odder on any of the plastic equipment.

I also use it on cast iron pans and our deep fryer as well. Dawn leaves an aroma on the pans and in the deep fryer that ends up in the food. Don't have this issue with Seventh Generation Free & Clear.

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

I absolutely love this product! So I've always loved the scent of the original Palm olive but was never happy with its delivery, and I've pretty much used always used Dawn instead. This stuff is freaking fantastic! I've completely converted to using only this dish soap, cleans very well, smells great, and I love the natural aspect. Overall great product.

MIT/BIT Ratio Mixture

By

from Texas, United States

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

For me to consider product safe additional information about the ration of the MIT/BIT PPM mixture needs to be on the label so I can determine to purchase product or not....waiting seven years for a formula change will cause a lot of itching and concern for those very sensitive to MIT/BIT. Based on what is "out there" in the mass supermarkets for organic and earth friendly consumers, product is at least a good start in the right direction.

marketed as natural

By

from washington, dca

Comments about Seventh Generation Natural Liquid Dish Soap:

marketed as natural, but if you look closely at the ingredients it contains synthetic preservatives. most of the ingredients are chemicals that are "plant derived", just about anything can be derived from plants, and that does not make it particularly "non-toxic". It says it's certified 85% good, but the main label says "non-toxic formula", yet the remaining ingredients, including synthetic preservatives are clearly not non-toxic.
