Years ago, I switched to inexpensive powders and liquids and paid the price with dingy whites and stains that just wouldn't some out. Then I saw the ads for PODS - and I thought, how stupid. Then I tried them. Our clothes smell great, and the whites have brightened substantially. This makes it fast for me, and easy for my kids when its time to swap the laundry. I was also told by our Maytag repairman that the PODS are the best thing you can use because incorrectly adding too much detergent can cause the seals of a front loader to grow dry and brittle. I don't know why some people are having problems with them not dissolving completely, I've used these now for a year and never had that problem UNLESS my washer was messed up. But I know why their washers are smelling bad - that's a front load washer problem. Our first front loader was disgusting to smell and after buying the second, I finally discovered you should ALWAYS leave the door to a front loader open when it is not in use so the remaining moisture in the drum doesn't sour. ;) I've not had any problems with my second front loader smelling bad and we never ever close the door unless its in use.

I first started using the Pods at my MIL's and boy do I wish she never bought them!! It seemed like it was working at first, but I didn't realize how long it actually has been ruining my clothes. As you can see, MANY people with front-loaders are telling you that it doesn't dissolve in cold water-- LISTEN! I've been finding little plastic pieces on some of my clothes for some time now and realized it only happens to cold cycles that I wash at her house. This week I'm house sitting and praying that the gigantic purple/pink/blue stain covering at least half of HER king-sized sheet will come out! I noticed that the Tide employers had the audacity to not only remind others to not overfill their load, but to not run cold cycles in the winter! Well, 1. I know when to stop adding laundry and 2. it was 90 degrees out that day. Unfortunately I was in a hurry, so I didn't see the stain before putting it in the dryer (but I did notice a weird smell too; it must be what others talked about). If P&G is concerned enough about dissolving issues to recommend not running cold cycles in winter months (and to always use the warmest water the clothes will allow), then it shouldn't be advertised to dissolve in cold water!! How many people have to report damaged/ruined items for you to actually do something?? Giving bad advice to random reviews doesn't cut it! I will definitely warn everyone I know about this!!

Love pods

By

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

I love pods they leave my clothes smelling fresh and really clean . The only drawback is that the last few containers that I bought about 7-10 of the pods were stuck together and they ended up being wasted.

Still not sure with blacks, monitoring effect

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

The first time I used this, I am convinced. It smells good on fabric, makes the color bright and cleans thoroughly. But my husband's clothes are mostly black. We noticed that black changes to a little grayish black or reddish black. I dont know if this causes it so we stopped using this. We tried other brands it went well. But now, Im using it again and still monitoring our black shirts if it will fade. We just cant say no to its scent that stays and cleaning power.

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

Best laundry soap found yet. Only thing I have found is that the pod can work its way to the front and get stuck in the door rubber of front loaders. Overall a great product.

If you value your clothes don't buy these

By

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

Tide pods are a great idea but don't do it. If they don't stickers to your clothes in a sticky mess then they will leave stains all over everything, blue/purple on whites and greasy looking on lights and darks. Hundreds of dollars worth of clothes lost due to Tide Pods

Tide with febreeze pods

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

I have always used Tide laundry soap, changed to liquid soap and lived it. Now the PODS evolution is here. Used original PODS and like them, tried the Tide & Febreeze PODS and HATE them. My clothes have blue stains on them now. I use a top loading washing machine, put the PODS in (only one), wait till have full of water then put clothes in. I now have to wash then soiled clothes by hand to remove the blue stains. To give you some additional info, we travel in our Motor Home and some laundromats ive not had problems. However we are located in Moore Haven FL, and have major problems with the PODS. A lot of people here are also experiencing the same problem. So for now I'm going back to TIME liquid soap till the problem is resolved. Thanks for listening to my complaints, I know you will solve this problem. Regards Linda

Pod debacle

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

I have been buying Tide Pods since they came out. They have always worked great. Very reliable. Clothes were clean. Smelled good. This last 3 pack box I bought is different. Something has been changed. All of a sudden the pods are not dissolving. They are sticking to a piece of clothing and then they get in the dryer and the piece of clothing is ruined. You cannot wash it out by hand or with another load. The plastic like material is melted into the piece of laundry. It's ruined a pillow case- cotton and shorts- polyester material and many other types of fabric. My guess is that P & G has changed the formula of the Pods and is using an inferior product to save money and it's costing the consumer. I will discontinue to buy the pods and at this point make sure I do not buy any Tide detergent or any P & G products. There have been many complaints and P & G is just blaming the consumer and stating user error. Typical big business.

Tide pods ruined my clothes

By

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

I had no idea I would have to check my clean clothes for tide pod residue so I tossed them into the dryer and now I am out some nice clothes. Tide Pods are GARBAGE and should be taken OFF the market.

Tide's Quality Assurance program does not work

By

Comments about Tide Pods Laundry Detergent:

multiple issues with clumps of pods not being cut apart. If I try to cut them apart, I usually damage 3 out of 4 pods beyond use. The clumps are usually 15 to 20 pods per container.
