I created a wall of picture frames in the hallway. I was concerned that this was across the hall from the washer and dryer and that some humidity or heat might affect the adhesive and the frames would fall. Not so! They have been on the wall for over a year, not one strip has come loose from the wall or the frame and I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the results.
(I might suggest an investment in a small picture frame level. It fits over the corner of the picture you want to hang so you know it's properly aligned.)
I eventually put some tiny framed mirrors in the 'empty spaces' and when friends look in the mirror I tell them that's their latest picture on the wall. I put the little mirrors up with the small Command strips

I followed the instructions, using more strips than recommended, just to be safe. On a (less than 6pounds) 16x20 frame, I used 4 sets, two on each side. I have used these on something smaller than 8x10 and it worked fine, but for anything larger than 8x10, it doesn't matter how many strips you use. It WILL NOT HOLD.
Ironically, I was initially pleased with the result and went to the store to buy more. When I returned, my picture frame had fallen and knocked down other things during the descent. Three of the four sets just did not adhere to the painted plaster (smooth) wall and the 4th set came apart at the velcro connection.

Since the brand new box had slightly longer strips, I thought I'd give them a try in addition to whatever slight stickiness may be salvaged from the fallen frame. I added FOUR more sets, covering the whole back outer edge of the frame (including the old strips from the first attempt). I pressed for almost a minute pushing my forearms into the sides to apply constant pressure on each whole side.

This time, it didn't even last a few minutes. I'm very disappointed and will try to return the newest box (I doubt I have the receipt for the first box and I used 4 sets already on the small frame a few weeks ago).

use on brick

By

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I purchased 12" x 18" aluminum sign reading "Parking for Those with Needs." I also purchased Command Hanging Strips. My question: Do the strips work on a brick wall?

Unframed Canvas mounts well!

By

from Cincinnati, OH, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I needed to hang my sister's painting; it was an unframed canvas and she had been bugging me to send a pic of it on the wall. I finally decided to use the 3M solution and now it is proudly mounted on the wall next to the fireplace...and my sister loves it that I have it up! Thanks 3M

Not happy with results

By

from Hope Valley, RI

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I bought these and they seemed to be okay for a few months. One picture frame came down in the summer and I thought it might have been due to the heat and humidity, but it is now November and another frame has now ended up on the floor. I am obviously not happy with the results.

Love OLDER STYLE applicator

By

from Florida, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I love this glue. However when replacing I had to buy it in a smaller applicator than what I had and this new one has a tiny cap and the glue just pours out. I am wasting a lot. I would love to have the older style applicator which had a wide clear cover which had a slot for the tip which was blue. it could also be stored upside down on the lid. That is my only complaint. I wish I could find the older bottle.

Perfect solution for picture wall.

By

from Albany, NY, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I've used command strips to hang my picture wall in 3 homes over the years. I can quickly take down a picture to change photos. When I painted the wall, there was no damage to repair, and I easy just had to add the wall side to the pictures with the strips still attached to rehang. Something in moving. Worth it.

Love them!!

By

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

When I moved in with my boyfriend he had no decorations anywhere! I asked him to help me hang some pictures, but he said he didn't want holes in the walls! Really???... Just kidding... They have lead paint under there. So I went to the dollar store and bought some of these wonderful do-dads! They are super easy to use. I don't even need his help! If you never used any before, just read the directions on the box. It takes less than five minutes. You do have to wait a day to hang up the picture, but I have just left some of my lighter ones on the wall without waiting. They were fine. I have a drawer full of all different command products!!

Horrible

By

from Massachusetts, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I purchased these to create a family photo wall. I bought all light weight frames and mounted 15 of them so far 4 8 x 10's have come crashing down breaking the frames and glass. What a waist of money. And before you ask yes the wall was clean and the photos weighed less than a 1/4 lb each.

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I wanted to hang a picture on the storage closet in my bathroom, but I did not want to put nails into the door and I didn't want the picture to bang on the door when I open and closed it. The medium picture hanging strips were perfect and my picture looks awesome on the door.

Failed product

By

from California, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I used these to hang up a few things in my dorm. I hanged up a frame of pictures and it seemed to stick well so I went to class. When I returned the frame was on the floor with a broken tab; and on the way down it knocked down and broke another frame and landed on some tea lights shattering the base of them. Overall three damaged products two of which are going to have to be tossed., I'm very disappointed and will go back to thumbtacks.

DAMAGED MY WALLS! WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS!

By

from California

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

This was the first time I used the Command Strips on painted walls and will NEVER do it again! The alcohol prep (which is the only method prescribed to prepare the walls) dulled and removed the paint off my walls. There should be a warning to try this technique first; the only warning is not to use on freshly painted walls, but my walls were painted over two years ago.

I attached it to our family calendar. This way every time I need to update and move things around, I can just take it down adjust and hang it right back up. Love command products. They help keep things nice and organized!!!

Waste of money

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I hung a plastic picture frame on the wall after following instructions, and the frame came crashing down in less than 10 seconds. I thought maybe the Velcro didn't snap together all the way so I tried again. This time the frame broke in half leaving more marks on the wall than a nail would have. I'm out the money for the frame, the command strips, and damage to the wall.

High Risk

By

from Dallas, Texas, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

My wife got these strips to hold a few small pictures for us, which belonged to my grandmother. Seemed like a really good idea, especially given all the good reviews I had heard. The strips held pretty well for a few months. Then one day I came home from work, and there was the frame, laying on the floor with one of the metal supports broken out of it. Thankfully, the glass was not broken, but the frame was damaged. I don't think I can really recommend something that will expose your things to risk and potential damage. Very dissatisfied.

Great for Teachers

By

from Houston, TX, United States

Comments about Scotch Quick-Drying Tacky Glue:

I tried these for my classroom and I am obsessed. Nothing would stay on my walls because it would get too humid on the weekend when they turn the air conditioning off. I even tried hot glue, nothing worked. I tried these and they are perfect. I teach Special Education and even if one of my kids rips a poster down we can just velcro it back.Pretty fantastic.
