Avery Name Tags Don't Adhere to Modern Fabric

This product has all the Avery pluses with one fatal flaw. They do not adhere to most fabric types, especially modern fabrics such as Dry-Fit and Clima-Lite. The vast majority of my guests are wearing these shirts and their Avery name tags end up on the floor.

Your engineers need to address this issue with you otherwise very nice product.

Since Avery has created the "TrueBlock" Technology, these labels are terrible. They do not stick to file folder tabs. After putting the label on, I either have to use tape over the top to keep it on the folder, or use a commercial label protector from another company. We run these through all types of printers, so I thought it was the heat of a printer breaking down the adhesive, but even sticking these on fresh out of the box they don't adhere.

I will never buy these labels again

I am beyond frustrated with these labels. We are now using scotch tape to keep them in place because they are not sticking to the manila folders from the moment we apply them! We are systematically going through all of our old files to put tape on them. A complete waste of time! Very disappointing!

I am an art gallery director and have successfully used these name badges in the past as labels for the artwork on my fabric-covered walls. The most recent batch I used curled and peeled off almost immediately. I had to redo labels for almost 100 pieces of art. Either the paper is lighter or the adhesive is different. Either way, these labels do not work well like they used to. Very disappointed!

            Poor Adhesive

            By

Comments about Avery Adhesive Name Tags:

Recently printed 300+ name badges for a fundraising event. Many complaints about difficulty with the labels staying on. Most embarrassing, one of the speakers tried to keep his attached to lapel and after 20 minutes it just fell off while he was at the podium. Very disappointing.

Great Decals - not 400 badges in the box!

            By

            from Palo Alto, CA

Comments about Avery Adhesive Name Tags:

Got two boxes of these badges recently - brand new and sealed. The box says that there are 400 badges per package. That would mean there would be 50 sheets. When I went to print about 240 badges, it went through a full new box and needed more sheets. I opened another pack and this time counted. There were only 28 sheets in this box.

Clearly some poor quality control or very misleading advertising on the package. Beware before you purchase. Otherwise, these are nice badges.

It is wretched the way these labels start falling off, in months to years after I have stuck them onto a manilla folder that i want to recycle. I finally came to your website and looked up the product number hoping that it would declare it as a temporary label and point me to another product as a "permanent" one. Very disappointing to see that Label 5366 is described as "permanent" and "guaranteed not to peel or curl". Every time I put one on, I hate it because I know it is going to come off again, and will I catch the file in time before it gets misplaced???

AVERY, YOU ARE THE MARKET LEADER, CAN'T YOU COME UP WITH SOMETHING BETTER? I will gladly be your beta tester.

"Easy Peel" is not an improvement

              By

              from Austin, TX

Comments about Avery Adhesive Name Tags:

As others have mentioned, jams many printers. We also do not like the "Easy Peel" back. If you don't want to break the name tags out separately it makes it harder to get them off. Having trouble finding the old style that WORKED. Will try 45395 instead and report back.

DO NOT BUY THESE LABELS. Try 45395 instead?

I have used this product for years and they've always been my go-to, so I ordered them for my big conference this year...and I've been crying at the printer for an hour trying to print these out.

Apparently the product has changed and instead of having labels that peel away, these pop out...which means they consistently get jammed in the printer, the pieces pop out on their own, you can't re-use a sheet if you only use 1 or 2 labels from the sheet...it is beyond frustrating. I have been trying for an hour and a half to print labels out - something I've done numerous times with this printer - and it keeps jamming.

This is such a frustrating and unnecessary change to an otherwise great product. I can't believe I wasted $70+ on this.

Avery has always been my go-to for labels, but these were very disappointing. They curled in the printer - had to put a heavy box on them before we could use. Tomorrow is an all-day training and after reading reviews on other sites, I'm a little worried they won't stick all day and will be difficult to peel off the backing. I'll update this post after tomorrow.
