Ombre (gentle tone on tone colors progress smoothly from light to dark to give a shaded look), Multicolor (a range of color combinations create stunning and dynamic striped effects), Potpourri (flecks of color shine through the thread to give larger step-stitch designs a colorful sprinkled effect), Melange (two contrary solid colored strands twisted together create exciting shading effects within the same design and add natural appearance for instance to the skin of an animal).
