So far, it's all as advertised. Unboxing is simple. It's smaller than I thought it would be. I replaced a Brother MFC7860DW with this one and it actually takes up LESS space in my small home office area than the Brother did. Set-up to get it up and running was easy. It takes a little bit longer than some other brands, but one must realize that this is real office equipment, not really so much a consumer product. It's like the difference between a KitchenAid mixer and a Black & Decker in terms of quality. The machine recognized my wireless network instantly, and was easily set up on a PC and three Macs. I've read some folks say that set-up was a terrible process, yadda, yadda, yadda, but I've got to think these people didn't read the manual first. I read the manual and simply followed the procedures. It was fine on the first try. With respect to the output results, I'm happy with the print quality. I think it's a bit better than my Brother was. The ease of use is just fine. Anyone who's ever used a modern Xerox office machine will feel right at home. It works exactly how you think it would, no surprises. there. I rated it four stars, not five, for speed because while the speed of output is certainly more than acceptable, but I've seen faster. The faster ones I've seen also cost a lot more, though. So, again, it's fine. Build quality seems what one would expect of a Xerox product, in other words, it looks and feel like it should last for years. One thing I wish it had was paper tray capacity for a whole ream of paper, but in this price class nothing else has that, either, so it is what it is. I ordered an extra high-capacity toner cartridge with my purchase as I'm pretty sure the one that comes with the machine is only a "starter" one and I didn't want to take the chance on running out even though I know it will warn you, by default at 10% remaining, when to get more toner. Bottom line: so far I'm completely satisfied with it. it does what Xerox says it will do in the way Xerox says it will. I think it's a great, little machine.

I just purchased my first of these WorkCentre 3225, and I was excited by the clean fresh look of the printer. We are replacing a set of aging Workcentre 3220 printers and I thought this would be a good fit. My first thought is about the toner cartridge - it is new and not compatible with the existing printers - OK, I expected that; time will tell about the value there. 2nd is the setup. I use the printer webpage to setup the printer for our domain. 2a. the drivers only come in an install program - windows 2008 server could not install the printer until I ran the install on the server. 2b. the email list can no longer be 'uploaded' - you must type in each one. 2c. the scan-to-email is not working - it immediately prints an error page. 3rd is support; it is fairly new, and so far there is no forum or help info for the odd email issue. I like Xerox printers, and I am sure I will like this eventually, but the initial setup has been disappointing so far.

Lemon

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

This copier is a few months old and we've had repeated phone calls for service on it. The motherboard has already been replaced. I've used Xerox products for years and always been happy with them but my fear is this copier is a lemon and we'll be replacing it again long before it's normal useful life. Not happy with this model.

Solid product with consistent performance

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

Purchased this Workcenter for a home office. All the features quite frankly out perform the more complex systems at the corporate office. It was easy to setup on the network and 5 computers print to it . Scanning is what I use most, good quality and speed. The printer is setup for cloud printing, if i am offsite and working on information, I just send it to cloud and later pickup the completed work. The WorkCenter is used in conjunction with a Xerox Cube and both make it difficult to work outside my home office.

Great printer at a great price

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

I received this printer yesterday to replace a HP laserjet. I thought that this printer would be a lot larger, however, it is small than the HP which is great because now I have more usable counter space. This printer shoots out pages fast and the duplex feature saves a ton of pages. Scanner and software seem to be great.

"good" little machine, will print from my mac. but can not get it to scan to email or my mac. tech support is LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG and no real result ? machine is loud. BUT , has not let me down as far as copy and print go so I'm sure its good, but it has not been fun not having the ability to scan, the main reason i bought this mfp, feels solid

Has a few bugs that need to be worked out

By

from Mililani, HI, USA

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

For the most part the 3225 works as expected. It's reliable once it's set up properly. I like that the default is to print to duplex since that saves paper. I did have to spend a few hours on the support line to get it to scan to PC properly. That part seemed to be a problem with my computer and not with the 3225. The most annoying thing about the 3225 is the beeps. I turned off all of the beeps that I could find, both in the menu on the device and in the control panel in the software (very annoying that you have to go to 2 different locations to do this). However, it still beeps when I print to it and it is in Power Saver mode. There does not seem to be a way to turn this off. I work at home in a single person office and the device is 5 feet from my desk. The beep is loud and obnoxious. This really needs to be fixed or the beep eliminated entirely before I could recommend buying the 3225.

Features Don't Live Up to the Expectations

By

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

I've owned this for about 6 months now. This is a good reliable black & white printer / copier only. Unfortunately I purchased it hoping to have a reliable office network scanner as well. This machine is horrible for network scanning. It doesn't maintain users or network connections. It doesn't matter if it's scanning to FTP or SMB or email or network users with this machine it either doesn't maintain network connections or its a nightmare to setup. I'm a Systems Admin who is also a business owner and now has an office full of disgruntled employees who need to scan occasionally to their computers. For network scanning stay far from this machine

Solid replacement for our Xerox 3210

By

from New Washington, OH 44854, USA

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

My wife and I decided to upgrade from our aging Xerox 3210 (which still works without ever needing service despite the decent volume we run through it) for something that was of comparable size, speed, and that featured WiFi with Apple AirPrint. This fit the bill nicely, and with the discounts we paid less than we did originally for our 3210. The only feature I was surprised to see deleted was the Scan-to-USB function. But frankly, I am a network administrator, and we use network scanning even at home like we do at work; as such, it's not an issue for us. So far I'm really impressed with this printer. It's fast printing, and VERY fast thinking. Boots up in under 10 seconds. Also, though it means supplies will technically (in the long run) be just a little more expensive, I like having the drum and toner separate, less waste, and costs are little easier to swallow up front because you take smaller bites so-to-speak.

WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO MY WORST ENEMY!

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Xerox WorkCentre 3225DNI Laser Multifunction Printer - Monochrome - Plain Paper Print - Desktop:

This is the third Xerox multi function unit we have owned in our small office. Unfortunately, it is light years behind the other two, older, devices. The scanning features are incredibly outdated. Unfortunately, when discussing the differences in devices with the Xerox sales person, I was led to believe something much different than I received. I haven't even owned this device for a week and I can't begin to describe my disappointment. This will be the last Xerox device I'll ever own.

This multifunction machine was very easy to set up, and worked first time without any problems for copying and scanning to network PC via WI-FI The User Manual provided on the Installation CDROM is well written, and easy to understand. I recommend the WorkCemtre 3225 without hesitation, and am happy to have made the purchase.
