The SC P600 is my third wide Epson printer. Each one has been a great printer and each new printer has been an improvement over the previous one. The SC P600 is no exception. After setting up the P600, I calibrated my monitor and did a printer calibration. After I started making prints of pictures I had printed on the old printer (a R1900), I noticed some very subtle but significant differences in the prints. Prints that previously appeared to be high contrast now appeared to have less contrast but also had a much improved tonal range. These tones match my monitor much better. I went back to some pictures that I had a really hard time printing on my old R1900. One was a picture of the famous tower in the town center in Bruges Belgium. The picture was shot at night with a full moon behind it illuminating a sky filled with puffy clouds. Even after using Photoshop, I could not get a print that faithfully reproduced the clouds on my R1900. Printing the same picture with minimal adjustments from Lightroom on the P600, the picture (and clouds) came out exactly as they were displayed on my high end monitor. Another picture was taken in the interior of a church in Prague. Literally the lighting at floor level had the impression of being only a few lumens. The picture was a real study in lighting, from the indirect light streaming through the windows near the roof, to the artificial lighting coming from the alcoves, to the really dim light on the floor. The colors of benches and tapestries were rather nondescript when printed on the R1900 but on the P600, the vibrancy really came out and the detail on the back of the pews showed the real detail of the wood. The print captured the lighting perfectly. What really sold me on the printer was a picture I took along one of the canals in Venice. One of the buildings had green shutters. On the P1900, the green was again rather nondescript. On the P600, the greens really showed the very subtle shades of green. The print made on the old P1900 was great but the print made on the P600 was even better. Epson has always made great printers and they really shine in reproducing bright colors. But the P600 takes it to a new level in accurately reproducing the pastels and more muted colors. I attribute this to the three variants of black inks and the two variants of cyan and magenta. The use of lighter variants of inks makes it possible to more reproduce a wider gamut of colors. In printing, it has always been a challenge to get prints that accurately reflect what is seen on the monitor. With the SureColor P600, I can finally say that my prints come as close as humanly possible matching the colors I see on my monitor. I can truthfully say that the SureColor P600 is the best printer I have owned.

Printing half pages

By

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

The printer was working fine until I updated the OS to Sierra and now it periodically stops in the middle (more or less) of printing a page. This is a bit of a major problem as this causes me to waste a sheet of paper. 13 x 19 inch Luster paper.

Excellent printer

By

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

I haven't had it long, but I'm very impressed at the quality of the prints - both on fine art mat papers and on luster. It handles very thick papers (I use 11x17 Hahnemuhle Museum Etching, a very thick paper) very, very well. It also does great work on printable CDs.

High quality!

By

from Burbank, CA, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

This is a really nice printer that provides high quality prints on a wide variety of papers! Of course you have to pay the price for that like almost every other high quality printer - expensive small ink cartridges, expensive changes between matte and photo black ink, expensive paper! It has some annoying issues like living black marks on the prints sometimes and alerts and canceling printing for skewed paper without any real skew problem (fortunately you can disable that message from the settings) but overall deserves the 4-star rating and I would highly recommend it! (If you have the space and money I would consider P800!) ;)

My third Epson dedicated photo printer

By

from Colorado, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

After my survey of photographers selling their work at a number of craft shows indicated that about 80 percent used Epson products, I bought my first one. After a few years I replaced it with the R1900. The SureColor P600 replaced the R1900 when the print head finally wore out. At this point I know the software and controls pretty well, so the set up was quick and produced excellent results. I am quite happy with the results and the entire experience of purchasing, set up, and creating my art.

ANother great printer from Epson

By

from Virginia, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

I bought this a couple of months ago to replace an Epson Artisan 1430 which I use for smaller prints (I also own an Epson 7880 for big prints). The quality of the prints is great, my only criticism is that it can suffer from the same problem that afflicted the 1430 - namely that the sheet feeder at the top sometimes doesn't work properly and needs a helping hand.

Improved quality

By

from Columbia, MD, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

I've had 3 weeks of intensive use of the P600 with excellent results. Compared to the R3000 I've been using for several years, it's faster, quieter, has the advantage of a network interface, and produces prints of good-to-excellent color rendering, a tribute to its inks and their handling in the device.

Epson SureColor P600

By

from Oregon, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

First printed directly out of the box after setup. The photos being printed were taken with a Nikon D750 by a experienced photographer. The print quality was superior to any drug store, Walmart, and other box printing store. Was not as good as the two professional labs I use. After calibrating the monitor and creating an ICC Profile the color quality improved. If you wish to have high quality prints, the monitor needs to be correctly calibrated, and you must use the correct profile for this printer. So far I have sold three of the photos printed from this printer. This printer will pay for it's self. Just remember that using cheap paper, old profiles that worked good on other printers or off brand ink is not the path to high quality prints. The only way to beat this is to go to a professional lab that will require you to set up a profile for you prints. Then their printers cost may time what this does. I will continue to use professional labs. This printer gives me the ability to create quick quality prints. Each has it correct time to use. I would recommend this printer, but it is not for just anyone.

Amazing printer

By

from ft myers

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

It took weeks to finally talk myself into buying the P600 printer. After hours of online searching I did it. I believe the multiple ink cartridges, 9, is what did it for me. The print quality is amazing. cons: Finding paper is interesting. The local office supplies have limited options along with no choice of ink cartridges.

Control Panlel tilt

By

from Enfield, NS, Canada

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

Just doing setup, but there are no specific instructions on how to release the control panel so it will tilt, and I don't want to go gouging and prying on a brand new printer.

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

Excellent printer!

By

from Lakewood, Colorado, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

This is my fourth Epson printer and it is excellent. I bought themn beginning with the 2200, 2400, and R3000. They have all processed high volumes an d continue like a workhorse. The p600 is excellent. I have printed several thousand 4x6 prints and some 13x19 and the colors are astounding. The inks last a long time and the switch from matte to luster is quick. I highly recommend this printer.

Problem with true colors.

By

from Virginia

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

My P600 prints a rusty brown instead of vivid reds in tree foliage. I have checked the nozzle for quality and it prints the patterns correctly. I had a Epson 1400 that produced extremely brilliant prints but I'm not satisfied at the moment with my P600.

Just over a year and ink heads clogged.

By

from Los Angeles, CA, United States

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

I replace my R2400 with this printer and had just over a year and now all the print heads are clogged beyond multiple cleanings... 14 and counting. UGH. Waste of ink and good paper. Not a fan of this printer.

Fabulous Color and Details

By

from Virginia Beach, VA

Comments about Epson SureColor P600 Wide-Format Inkjet Printer:

My photographic art really stands out when printed on the heavy fine art paper. It looks hand painted rather than printed. The colors are a perfect match to my iMAC monitor and required no adjustments. The printer itself has a screen that seems fairly intuitive to set up the printing parameters. Initially it required some getting used to but any new product requires a learning curve. Since printing my artwork with the Epson P600, I have had more people stopping to look at my gallery wall. Sales have increased with the eye-popping results. With superb inks producing perfect colors and details, I know this printer is always going to make me smile with the results. Thank you, Epson!
