It works as described. However, there is a possibility of ruining the product if one chooses to lift the receiver by hand instead of using the device w/ earpiece. Specifically, the lifter's gears become damaged when the receiver catches the lifter and in effect forces the lifter up at a swift rate. Do this twice, and you've ruined your lifter. To avoid this make sure the lifter is far enough down so that lifting the receiver by hand will not catch the lifter.

We have several hundred of these devices in service. The most frequent problem I have encountered is that the lifter stops picking up the incoming call, failing to sending the 3 alert tones to the headset - a hugh issue to anyone that spends any time away from their immediate work area. To date, the only way to resolve the issue has been to replace the lifter. I question the quality of the built-in microphone circuitry that is supposed to pick up the ringer (installing the external mic does not help).

just awful

By

from Chattanooga, TN, United States

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

This contraption is ridiculous to try to use. The only way it will hand the handset up properly is if there is a rubber band around the lifter and that handset, AND THEN, the rubber band has to continuously be adjusted because it slips. If this is what it takes to be wireless, I'll just stay wired...

Check the lifting setting before you buy a new one

By

from SF, CA, United States

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

The setting got moved and the help desk did not get me to try that. So I bought a new one that I did not need.. Still in the box. First one just needed to be adjusted.

Does not lift

By

from Seattle, WA, United States

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

This lifter rarely worked when I first purchased it. I had to fiddle with the wires everytime that I wanted it to work, and even that was sporadic. After much frustration, I gave up. I tried to troubleshoot again today. Still does not work. Product does not do its job - lift. Product does not work as stated by Plantronics.

Easy to use

By

from Wenatchee, WA, United States

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

I bought this a couple weeks ago to accompany my wireless headset and I am so glad I did. The lifter is very easy to install and use and works great. This product, along with the wireless headset has saved me from having severe neck strain and allowed me to be a lot more mobile in my workspace. One of the best purchases I've made.

Easy to use

By

from Michigan

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Having some problems hearing the ringtone in my earpiece. And the lifter occasionally hangs up on my calls. Trying to work out these bugs. Other than that, I really like it. It is much smaller and much more convenient than the one I used before.

functional - bu tno teasy to adjust

By

from New York, NY, United States

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

difficult to adjust (alt least to my Nortel phone) - does not lift and replace uniformly- even on the lowest setting - lift can sometimes completely displace the handsel , and one needs to manually replace it

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Easy to use, you basically plug this device into your plantronics headset base, then you click your headset on button to make it work. I have to make close to 40 class a day, so this will save you alot of time with your wireless headset.

    They missed one big thing

    By

    from Philadelphia, PA

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Great product if you are always answering phone calls away from your desk. However, if you're like me and spend your day on the phone at your desk, this is a very literal pain to press your ear every time you answer a call. There should be a button on the unit to press to lift the handset. Now I'm looking for a manual lifter from days past to replace it.

Excellent Product - 6 Yrs. Old and Going Strong!

    By

    from Garland, TX

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

I have had my HL10 Lifter for at least 6 years now. I work in an office with moderate to heavy call volume and have never, ever had a problem with it. I took it out of the box, aligned my handset, which took 5 to 10 minutes, and was up and running. I've never had an issue with it not lifting the handset or any of the other problems some had stated.

    Excellent Product

    By

    from Dallas

I have had one for two years with heavy use. I hooked it up to my AASTRA office phone and CS55, and it worked out of the box, with no issues.

    Not so great...

    By

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Alignment, if you can get it working, is a pain. It goes from lifting the receiver "very little" to the next setting which lifts the receiver way too much. Needs a mid-point setting.

    By

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Alignment difficult and the unit wears out under moderate to heavy use. I have worn out 2 of them in 3 years.

Perfect For On The Move Phone Calls

    By

    from Columbus, OH

Comments about Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter:

Great add-on for headset on phones with no headset jack. A pain to align correctly, but once aligned, it works great. I had it pause before lifting a few times, but works 99% of the time.
