Comments about Ledu Economy Magnifier Lamp:

All is well built and sturdy except the clamp which is plastic instead of metal. The lamp is bright. The lens is very clear and of very high quality. At a diopter (d) of 3, it magnifies 1.75X; less than twice. This is adequate for inspecting larger objects where an in focus depth of field (dof) of 13 inches is required. For detail work involving small(finger held) parts or print (example: stamps) where a smaller dof is adequate, a 5d/-2.25X-/8"dof or 8d/-3X-/5"dof lens would be better. I recommend it conditionally as indicated above.

  • Q:

I have an older version of this lamp, but mine is on a rolling stand. As I recall, it could also be clamped onto a table. I'd like to know if this lamp will fit on my stand.
