So not only is this paper more expensive than jolee's so i thought i was getting more of a quality paper, but the product is pathetic, disgusting, ridiculous, paper, i bought this for something important i needed, followed the instructions in the packaging exactly and to my surprise! it turned out like garbage... took some researching online to find out exactly what i thought I was doing wrong but i didn't do anything wrong,. they put instructions for printing on light fabric(which i did) and the actual paper in the box turned out to be made for dark fabric (so long story short the wrong product was in the box, wouldn't have been so bad if they put the instructions for that paper in the box but they didn't).... There are countless terrible reviews for this and most avery products for t-shirts online and I guess its my fault for not doing my research. Lesson learned Avery, thanks for making terrible products and putting the wrong products in the box. I appreciate you greatly wasting my time and money, and printer ink.

Very disappointed in Avery

By

from Toledo Ohio

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

I wanted to use these to make shirts with my Logo on them for my husband and I for when I do craft shows.

FAIL. big time.

I followed the instructions and even printed off a page to practice on a piece of fabric (The 4x4" piece worked WONDERFULLY) So I tried my full page logo. Read the instructions one more time just for good measure, noting that ironing time for a full page should take about 3 minutes. An hour and a half later, I'm still struggling to get an edge, any edge, of the paper to peel off of the plasticy stuff that the transfer is made out of. I finally get one edge to peel off and the transfer tears in the middle. I carefully place the bit that tore back on the shirt and iron over it again. Finally success! sort of. the edges that I painstakingly ironed with all of my weight against it are still peeling and frayed.
My 2 shirts are currently in the wash, by themselves, on cold and I'm not expecting much when they come out.

Not what they used to be

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

This product has gone downhill fast! We made some shirts 2 years ago with this paper and they are still intact today with regular washing and care. Recently though, we made some shirts last week and they cracked, peeled, and came off in the wash right after applying the transfers (and yes, we followed the instructions to the letter). Sadly, some of those shirt we made for a close friend and when she told me the transfers came off in the wash we were completely embarrassed. This has forced us to used a different brand of transfer paper. Whatever changes Avery made to these transfers was obviously NOT for the better!

    Waste of money !!!!

    By

    from Quebec, Canada

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

I used this product following the instructions very carefully and found that the image didn't want to transfer, I finally got the image to transfer but it to about three times the time given in the instructions. When it did transfer the image didn't transfer completely. After when I hand washed the item tha I used the transfer on the image almost washed off completely, leaving behind a flaky mess. I am very disappointed

    Beware of the extra sheet!

    By

    from New Bern, NC

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

As a first-time user of the fabric transfers, I mistakenly pulled out a piece of paper in the package of fabric transfer sheets that was NOT a fabric transfer sheet. I printed my image on it and then tried ironing it to my fabric, only to find that sticky stuff was adhering the paper to the iron's sole-plate. Worse yet, the sticky stuff was very difficult to remove from the iron's surface. I don't know why this sheet is in the package, why there is no marking on it instructing first-time users "DO NOT USE". We spent at least 45 minutes cleaning off the stuff from our iron.

        Should specify for light fabrics

        Cons

        • Translucent When Applied

        Best Uses

        • For White Or Light Fabric

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

I was using these on coloured items (orange, blue, green, etc). The images turned out great when printed at best quality, BUT once I ironed onto the clothing item (took a few tries), the design was barely visible. On the cover of the packaging there are only light/white fabrics used, but this should be stated explicitly in name of product. I will be buying the dark fabric transfers to try this project again.

The fabric makes use on colors better than transfers. The fabric overlays the item and only white areas are affected by substrate colors.

I followed the enclosed directions exactly when transferring the images to a shirt and it didn't work. Not only did the image not transfer completely - some areas stuck to the paper, some areas partly transferred (yes I evenly heated the whole image for the same amount of time) - but after washing as instructed on the directions 90% of my images were peeled or flaking off.

I started with these with my drawings, but the fancy inks I was using with my pens wasn't coming out because you flip the design when you go to adhere it. Also, did not adhere very well to the fabric. I went to the transfers for dark colors next, and it worked better.

I was really excited to have found a pack of 18 for what I was needing to do. I was making t-shirts for a company meeting. I had to use the entire pack of iron-on transfer paper to get the project done. When I was done the corners were missing, have the picture peeled off, and the image was flakey and bubbly. I was more than disappointed. I not only wasted a whole pack of this transfer paper but I wasted all the shirts too! so upset! I would never recommend this product to anyone!

Comments about Avery Iron-on Transfer Paper:

Yes, the image needs to be flipped before applying it to the transfer paper. This can either be done using a feature built-in to some printers, or with imaging software programs.

I start at a corner and then slowly start to tear just like an 1/8 of an inch. the paper tears but the image does not. then just peel away.

Product AVE3271 is a better fit for light-colored material. The product page has a video detailing the printing and ironing process.
