Comments about Victor PL8000 Heavy Duty Commercial Printing Calculator with Prompt Logic & HELP Button:
I needed a thermal paper calculator for the quiet printing, and this is the most feature laden model I could find. Even though thermal paper means one color printing, negative numbers are printed in bold, so it has the same effect as two color printing. The keys have a good feel and are generally well positioned. The numeric keys have the same size and spacing as the numeric keypad on a standard computer keyboard. The alpha numeric display is not quite as easy to read as a standard numeric display, but it's perfectly fine after getting used to it. This model has all of the features of a typical high end calculator, including margin calculation, two tax rates, time and date printing and calculation, loan calculation, and currency conversion. The alpha numeric printer has some nice advantages, including the ability to label the two tax rates (like STATE and LOCAL), label the currency conversion (like USD and EURO), and the ability to save and print custom text (three two line text memories, and three four line text memories, each with 24 characters per line).
