back to the 90s? crashes are regular and beyond acceptable. it was just annoying after the first week. now that i've been struggling with this bloated office product for almost two weeks, its time to go back to Office 2010, which may not be current, but at least crashes are not an issue. my bad for expecting/hoping that Microsoft would have stopped releasing beta quality software.

Waste of time and money

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

I purchased a new dell laptop with windows 10 pro and Office Home & Business 2016 installed. I do not use onedrive or other cloud services and since my outlook mail account is 14 characters, I did not want to sign onto my laptop using it. I had to spend over 10 hours with Dell's support including its highest tier, Client High Complexity Resolution Team, to get things working. They had to create new users, file paths and who knows what else. I have lost other things like recent places, etc. I can understand Microsoft wanting me to use their other services and software but those should be options and not "mandatory" requiring complex and expensive tweaks to remove the "options". I only wanted to use outlook, excel and word. I will be switching to Apple after decades of MS.

Is it even possible to buy any Office Suite (2016) on a CD anymore?

Unreliable

By

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

Laggy interface, crashes, glitches. All unacceptable on a brand new Macbook and software that isn't more than a year old. Crashes and glitches have caused me to lose my schoolwork twice. Once today. I'm not amused.

Worst products ever made

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

They can't even make their own products work with one another. I installed Visio, and it proceeded to uninstall the other office products. Excel is glitchy, especially the add-ons like solver, and continuously freezes. Would not recommend.

Re Installation Nightmare

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

Activation is terrible. It was working fine for about 5 moths then gave out and refused to open any projects for no reason. When I tried to re install the program it would not let me activate it using my email even though my account was in the top right hand corner of the screen.

Does not work with Exchange 2007, very disappointing MS, should at least make people aware before they purchase.

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

It's a good product overall with few glitches. I like the fact you can easily add/remove users to different computers. It's also very convenient to be able to work on same document from anywhere. However, be warned if you have multiple computers with different Windows version with different languagel settings. We use 365 for our small business. My wife has Windows 7 with Office 365 in Korean. I have Windows 8.1 with Office 365 in English. When we open/save files, format/layout changes due to measurement differences between inches/centimeters so everything looks different. This is a problem when you try to print the document since we both have our personal preferences. It also at times takes a while for Onedrive to sinc files even if you are in same room. In the end, if there were other products that wouldn't change all my documents' layout, I would probably try them.

Don't buy it!

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

I purchase this product yesterday and installed it. Every time I go into a program whether it is word, excel, power point or outlook it crashes. I re booted to see if that would help but the same thing happens. I am going to return it and get my money back. Word and Excel 2007 work just fine and they never crash.

Installer doesn't work on MAC!

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

I've just wasted an entire day (from 10:00 - 21:00) with Microsoft trying to install Office for Mac 2016. Outlook installs just fine. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and One Note refuse to launch and there's an error screen. Microsoft is stumped, after numerous installs, deletes, reinstalls, etc. VERY disappointed. Interestingly, I have an instance of MS Office 2016 on another MAC (same hardware) and that installed just fine. Oh, and then I learned that it can only be installed as a download, no install discs (MS thinks their installer isn't working...duh!).

By

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

Come Microsoft, get your business together. This is it I am not trusting in this company anymore. I cannot believe the level of frustration your latest office causes me, I have been using this software for over 15 years, and never have I had sooooo much crashing with my computer and the garbage you call Excel now a days. And I cannot believe your own product (one drive) does not syncs properly with your own operating system. COME ON!!!!!!!

IF USING EXCHANGE 2010 - BEWARE!

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

We have an Exchange 2010 server, and with Home and Business 2013, we enter our info manually using our exchange server FQDN to connect - this option HAS BEEN REMOVED IN 2016. If you want to connect to exchange, you have to have a PRO version of windows (+another freaking $99). This coupled with the IMPOSSIBLE task of trying to coordinate who has what product key and when it was activated because the "product" page is just a long list of what you bought with product keys 3 clicks in on each product? Just don't buy. Look at volume licensing if at all possible.

Completely inept

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

I cant even download the software, requires me to login to a microsoft account that I don't have. When I try to login it says I have tried too many times, etc. Why do I have to login to download software I just purchased, Why not just give me a link to download it. When I am dealing with these kind of issues with microsoft I could almost swear the whole thing is a parody of a terrible design.

Remote Mail access issue for business

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Office 2016 Home & Business - 1 PC:

Outlook 2016 will not allow a remote connection to Exchange 2007. That is a big issue for me as I have many remote users and we are still running Exchange 2007. I think it will be a big issue for many small businesses.
