This is the first time in a year and a half of therapy Luke has ever cried over a toy. When it was time for his therapist to go he had a melt down. He just kept saying, "Lady Bug, Lady Bug!" I guess they were pretty cool. Each bug came in three parts. They snapped together. They each had a number and an equal number of dots on their back. They were challenging to pull apart. You could stack them up. Good for counting and motor skills. Luke enjoyed thinking out side the box and creating wild mixed up bugs, then he would pull them all apart and match them by color again. His therapist said this was very good. He was challenging himself and thinking for himself. I think I'm going to have to buy him a set of these. They are made by learning resources. I was just visiting their website. Wow, they have a lot of really cool stuff.

Poorly made and check my photo. The n is upside down! (And no it's not the u, the other side matches Aa, and there is a different alligator with Uu)

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

This is a great idea with good potential but needs work. The bases did not fit together easily while other parts could not be separated for re-use. Gears fell off the base easily, making it frustrating for young children. Stickers didn't match up with parts and also limited how gears could be used. Would love to see an improved version.

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

I just bought this at the MiAEYC early childhood conference for my classroom, and I was very excited for my 2.5yr olds to use this. The first child I show it to, gets to the letter K and tells me there isn't a K. And as we continue on through the alphabet, I notice there isn't an X either. Instead of those letter, I have 2 duplicates. Since I got this at a conference, I dont know how to go about trying to get the missing letters. The kids do love this product, but I'm not happy about what's missing.

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

My son has had these since he was 8 months old. Over the year and a half that we have had these we have played with them in a variety of ways. When he was younger it was simply to take the wings on and off. As he got older it was to develop language and match shapes, then eventually colors, and now imaginative play.

The pieces are very durable and smooth to the touch. Yes, as some others have reviewed some pieces do not snap tight in place but it is not that bad. I would have given this 5 stars if all of the pieces were snap tight.

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

I like the idea of this toy and it is a cute design/concept. However, the quality of the paint is bad since it was coming off when it was fresh out of the container. I just hope the paint is not toxic as I'm sure it will continue to come off with use. The eyes were painted on poorly and there is excess paint on the snout and side of the head. One of the pieces has something broken inside so it shakes like a rattle. I just hope that the rubber does not come off so that piece won't fall out and my 2 year old swallow it.

I have another product by this company and the paint job on it looks terrible as well. They may need better quality control.

I agree with the review which mentioned it would have been better with 26 whole alligators instead of 13 with the other half of the alphabets printed on the other side.

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

My grandaughter was learning colors and shapes when she received this as a gift for her 2nd birthday. I thought it would be a great teaching tool, but she became very upset when the cutout on the purple wings did not match either the purple body or the contrasting color on the purple head (orange) she kept saying "No! No! Grandma that's wrong, it doesnt match!" she got so mad she cried and refused to play with it any more. when children learn colors and shapes they are typically learning matching as well. it does not make sense (to anyone with a logical brain) to have purple wings go with a red body and not have a red head with purple antennae or vice versa. I dont know why they didnt use complimentary colors together (purple and yellow, blue and orange, red and green) it makes a good decoy toy for the puppy to take and chew on so she leaves the toys we care about alone.

I like the product itself - including the material it is made out of. However, it is terrible trying to get all of the parts back in the container. I try to teach my kids to put THEIR OWN TOYS AWAY but that is difficult to do when it takes ME three times to get them all to fit so the lid can go on.

My children are aged nearly 2, 4 and 6 years and they all love the Alligators and use them in different ways. The nearly 2 year old plays with them as 'just' alligators, he practices pulling them apart and pushing them back together, making up funny coloured versions or matching colours. My 4 year old matches the letters, colours and can recognise the letters from his name. My 6 year old can put them in alphabetical order. We have also made up our own game with the Alligators. Lots of fun to be had. Very well made and easy to store too.
We were sent the Alligators for review purposes.

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

Pre-school has been a fun journey so far and my daughter comes up everyday talking about new things and of course a million questions. Her most recent question was the difference in lowercase and uppercase letters. I thought the Snap n Learn® Alphabet Alligatorsnofollow would be perfect to show her and help differentiate. She caught up pretty quick matching and creating all of the alligators. I liked that they were two sided and have a great container to store them in when not in use. Learning Resources is our go to learning toy line and we enjoy sharing their products with our readers. They have helped our daughter work on so many different learning tasks and overcome many obstacles from colors, letters, shapes and more. Their products are creative, effective and fun. A toddler wants to have fun and when they are having fun they are learning and taking in everything. Learning Resources allows for just that and i am pleased to recommend adding them to your holiday shopping list for the little learners in your life!

Comments about Learning Resources Magnetic Ten Frame Boards, 4 Blue/White Boards, 100 Red/Yellow Foam Counters:

Adorable and easy to snap together, but packaging is a little mis-leading. On the packaging it states that there are 26 pieces...which leads one to believe that, since there are 26 letters in the alphabet, there are 26 pairs...which is not the case. There are 26 1/2 pieces, 13 whole alligators. Therefore, each alligator has one set of letters on his right side and a different set of letters on his left side. So, when the kiddos get to the 13th alligator (Mm), they have to backtrack to letter Z. It's confusing and a real disappointment to the little ones when they can't complete a line of alligators to the end of the alphabet. Great concept. Just need 13 more alligators so that all 26 alligators have the same letter on each side.

There are 13 brightly colored alligators. Each alligator has a capital letter and a lowercase letter on either the head or tail section. Each alligator snaps together and apart easily. They are double sided so there is a letter on each side of the alligator. They can be used to match up the letters (capital to lowercase). They can also be used for color matching, fine motor skills, or making a pattern. They are made from a thick plastic. The small piece that is used for the alligators to attach to each other is surprisingly softer.

These are easy for my toddler to use. He mostly likes to put them together and take them apart. He has not gotten to the matching stage yet. I love the learning value of these fun alphabet alligators. They are colorful, fun, and interesting for my toddler. Even my 1st grader enjoys playing with them. I like that this comes with a reusable container to keep them all in. Makes it easier to keep them all together. The only thing I don't like is that they are double sided so there are only 13 with 2 letters for each. It would be nice if there were one for each letter. Although it would be more difficult to keep track of them all if there were more.

I was provided these in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced.

The Alphabet Alligators is a great set of colorful alligator heads and tails. Each piece has a capital and lower case letter that the child is supposed to match up. There is a total of 13 heads and 13 tails which allows for 2 letters per match (one on each side of the alligator.)

Each match is color coded to aid in easier match making. I like that I can say the letter or sound for our 3 year old and practice matching the capital with the lower case but I can also use this set with older children (we also have a 6 and 9 year old) by saying a word and they find the beginning sound and match them.

The only improvement I would like to see in this set is for each letter to have its own alligator so I could also have our children line up the ABC's and to allow even more options when I make up games. *I received a sample in exchange for my honest blog post.

Overall, the quality of the product is good. However, we received a bad batch. We received two red heads with the #3, and we were missing the blue head with the #4 on it. It messes up the set. It's a good product if you get the right pieces. So, for that reason, I can't recommend it. We received it as a gift.
