I've been using a C710 for a few months. Works great for Lync, Skype, and iPhone over Bluetooth. Companion PC software works fine and firmware updates are easy. Battery is great for those who need a good comfortable headset when they travel. I've used with iPhone, Blackberry, and Android phones. Bluetooth reception is fine; any issues I've had are with the handset's bluetooth range.

I bought a C720 for use with my PC. It works well enough, but I find it uncomfortable. The large, round, fat, headband is slippery and the headset falls off my head about 3 times an hour. I now use a C315 which is lighter, has a flat headband, and stays put.

I don't truly need Bluetooth, but I did test it. Yes, Bluetooth makes you mobile, but the long cord with the Bluetooth dongle is annoying. I end up wrapping it around my neck so it does not swing around. For me, the USB connection works best.

Sadly, you can't plug this C720 into an analog jack on a phone or tablet. On the new C315, you can pop the USB adapter off, and plug the headset cable into a 3.5mm jack on a phone or tablet that does not have USB. Yes, you can use Bluetooth instead, but that often has other issues on phones. I prefer a wired connection when one is available.

Works only on Andriod not Iphone

By

from New York, NY, United States

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

Been using this headset for a year or 2 and worked great. Got the new iphone 7 and it does not work any longer. The iphone takes control of the Bluetooth connection and disables the headset from being used with the computer. Andriod used to have a setting where your BT was Call Audio or Medio Audio but Apple does not. So this device is useless.

Very Good Headset (Blackwire C710)

By

from Northwest New Jersey

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

I have been using this headset for a few weeks. It has the high build quality that I expect from Plantronics. Other positives include excellent sound quality, and flexibility/capability to use with both the computer (as an USB headset) and a cellphone (as a Bluetooth headset). The headset is reasonably comfortable, but I do find myself adjusting the position of the headband and the mic fairly often. But, I have not used a single-sided headset before, so this could be the reason. The only negative I have found is that, if the headset is connected to both the computer and the cellphone, any activity on the cellphone (receiving an email or text, or phone call) that generates a ringtone or message tone interrupts the computer audio during the activation of the tone. I participate in a lot of conference calls on the computer (using webex or gotomeeting) and this can be annoying. I have found a pretty easy workaround - I just disconnect the headset using the Bluetooth settings on the cellphone during these calls. It would have been nicer to have the computer audio continue at a lowered level during the phone tone, but you can't have everything (at least I can't). Overall, this is an excellent headset, and I recommend it.

Great headphone but...

By

from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

Have had a 720 for over a year now along with a Legend UC and uses them 8 hours a day every day. I swap between the 2 because I have a big head and the 720, while presenting fantastic sound, gets too tight after a while and hurts my ears. Then I switch to the Legend and suffer a bit with sound quality due to the BT300 dingle being behind an aluminium iMac. Aside from the size issue.. a great headset.

bluetooth connectivity?

By

from North Shore, MA

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

The Good: works well when attached to your pc as headphones or for PC calls. Bluetooth works with my iPhone The Bad: bluetooth does not connect with my iPod or Mac. It's actually pretty awful that this is the case. I bought it and assumed bluetooth connectivity actually meant bluetooth connectivity. My dinky Motorola bluetooth connects to all bluetooth devices. For this price, the lack of bluetooth connectivity is extremely disappointing.

By

from Mesa, AZ

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

The Plantronics C720-m are the most comfortable call center headset I've ever owned. The voice quality is amazing. I would have liked to hear a little more bass, however, these headphones are designed more for office use music enjoyment.

No Windows 10

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

Worked great until I upgraded to Windows 10. Plantronics doesn't seem to be supporting this product on the Windows 10 platform. Do not purchase if you have upgraded or plan to.

Product stopped working after 4 months

By

Purchased this in Sept 2014 and it's already broken by Jan 2015! Great product but the fact that it has already died 4 months into use is a problem.

Worked fine - microphone stopped working

By

from Milpitas, CA, United States

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

Good headphone but the microphone stopped working after 6 months. Ordered a replacement and I have the bear the cost of shipment of returning the defective item for warranty replacement. I was also having trouble switching it from laptop speaker and microphone to headphone since it uses USB. Not usre if this because of USB connected to docking station or Windows 7. Audio quality is very good.

No Sidetone with Apple Mac or iPhone

By

from Cleveland, OH, United States

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

This headset does not provide sidetone for Apple products (Mac and iPhone). Sidetone is the effect of the sound picked up by the microphone being instantly introduced at a low level into the headphones. In other words, you can't hear what you're saying when speaking into the microphone while wearing the headset. I've used dozens of different headsets and this is the only one that does not provide sidetone in the device. Very annoying! Plantronics claims its an Apple issue. Regardless, no sidetone.

Excellent headset!

By

from Lords Valley, PA, United States

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

I bought this for my work softphone. It is the most comfortable over the head headset I've ever used. The ear pieces are very soft - and comfortable even for a two hour long conference all. The sound is amazing. I have asked co-workers if they hear noise in the background when I speak to them using this headset - and I've gotten no bad replies. All say it is clear and quiet. I like the way it folds in the ear pieces for a safe fit into my laptop bag. Easy to set up right out of the box. Bonus is that it works great with my cell phone (iPhone).

Excellent Sound and Mic

By

from Huntington Beach, CA, United States

Comments about Plantronics Blackwire C710-M Headset:

I work in a loud and crowded sales office (8-10 people on the phone at all times calling and doing demos) and this worked perfectly. People on the other end of the call were able to hear me well.
