Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent - Created with care to lift and remove stubborn stains, dirt and grease. Unique formula contains plant-derived cleaning agents and enzymes that are non-irritating to skin. Works well in both hot and cold water. Designed for standard and HE machines. Did You Know?
Optical brighteners are synthetic chemicals that make fabrics appear to glow in the presence of ultraviolet light. They don't have anything to do with getting things clean -- they're only added to detergents to make us think our laundry is brighter and whiter than it really is. Seventh Generation laundry products contain no optical brighteners.

  • 150 oz Size.
  • Concentrated formula means you'll get more loads washed per bottle than regular liquid detergents.
  • The combination of plant-based substances and enzymes gets out the toughest stains.
  • Hypoallergenic and free of chlorine, phosphates and petroleum-based ingredients.
  • No artificial fragrances or dyes.
  • Effective in both high-efficiency and standard machines.
  • No optical brighteners.
  • Not tested on animals.
  • 99 Total Loads.

My daughter suffers from eczema and she also has sensory integration dysfunction so we have a double whammy in our household. I was so happy that I got the opportunity to try Seventh Generation's Free and Clear Laundry Detergent to use on my daughter's clothes and our bath towels. My daughter always smells our towels and her clothes to see if I washed them and she gets so upset. She doesn't like all the strong fragrances that most have and it irritates her skin and sometimes even gives her a headache. I was so happy to see her not get emotional after I washed her stuff using Seventh Generation's Free and Clear. She normally gets upset and sometimes refuses to wear anything I have washed but this time she didn't and I was so relieved. I highly recommend this product for anyone dealing with situations similar to ours. I received free product samples for the purpose of my review and my statements and opinions made are 100% my own.

The new "fresh lavender" scent is sooo strong and sooo awful and sooo NOT lavender. Like a previous reviewer, I've been a longtime, happy user of the Seventh Generation "blue eucalyptus & lavender" scented laundry detergent. I recently purchased what I thought was the usual scent only to be highly disappointed to find out how awfully wrong I was. First off, the label for the new "fresh lavender" scent looks practically identical to the old "blue eucalyptus & lavender" label (seriously, Seventh Generation? Come on...help a mama out!) So I didn't even notice the difference until I pulled my laundry out of the washer and couldn't get over how bad it smelled. At first I thought maybe my washer hadn't washed out all of the detergent, or that perhaps I used too much. So I ran the load through the rinse cycle again. Nope. That horrendously strong odor was still there. Then I looked at the bottle and noticed the tiny little "new" label above the scent name and realized that despite the incredibly similar label, it wasn't the usual scent. Now, I love lavender. But this smell is not lavender. It smells like a combo of ammonia and bug spray to me. And I cannot get over how strong it is. Even after an extra rinse cycle and dry, everything washed in that load of laundry reeks. I'm super disappointed. Please tell me that this new extremely strong and unpleasant not-actually-lavender scent isn't replacing the blue eucalyptus & lavender scent.

I am so far impressed with the ingredients, however am I curious as to the sodium chloride, and cannot seem to find if this is a bleach free product?

New Lavender scent is awful!

By

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

I bought this because it was the last bottle left thinking the "new" lavender scent was just minus the eucalyptus. Oh no! This is an overly flowery scent that smells artificial. I also rinsed the load again to try to get rid of it, but it wasn't much better. Back to the store it goes!

New fresh lavender scents is TOO STRONG.

By

from Phoenix, AZ, United States

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

For the record, this review is for the new Fresh Lavender scent, and not about the quality or effectiveness of the detergent. I have to join the chorus of those complaining about the new "fresh lavender" scent. I love the smell of actual fresh lavender, and usually like products with natural lavender scents (no synthetics). However, this scent does not smell like lavender, and it is very overpowering. I am among those who suffer from scent sensitivities, and the previous Blue Eucalyptus and Lavender scent was never a problem for me. If the Blue Eucalyptus and Lavender scent is no longer available at my store, I will be purchasing the fragrance free version instead.

New formula has patchouli

By

from Oregon

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

The new 100oz bottles of Lavender laundry soap have patchouli, everyone. It is not stated on the front of the bottle. The bottle says 'new fresh lavender scent' which is not true and misleading- as the only scent is patchouli It has permeated my clothes, as well, as a previous reviewer stated, even after washing 3 times to rid the odor. The scent of patchouli is very bothersome and my family is sensitive to it. I've hassled all day with my stinky patchouli laundry issue and feel it is fair to leave this review and hope it helps anyone else.

My Only Laundry Detergent

By

from Kansas

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

I tried this detergent a few years ago when it became harder to find a national brand in unscented, and I have never used anything else since. I am sensitive to perfumes, and greatly appreciate the absence of any scent in the Free and Clear. I can add a drop or two of an essential oil to the wash at my discretion. I do not use much of this at a time, and the clothes come out clean and fresh. Excellent product!

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

This is a great product. It is different than any other product I've tried and the laundry smells so good after a wash. It is definitely recommended.
This product is good for baby since it does not have scent. It did a good job of fighting stain. This is exactly what I've been looking for.

Preservative is known allergen

By

from Chicago, IL, United States

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

Although I appreciate the ideals of this company, the methylisothiazolinone used as a preservative in this product makes me break out. The Dermatologist who did my allergy testing told me he sees people every week who test positive to this allergen. Please consider reformulating your products to remove this chemical. It is present in too many products.

new lavender only scent is perfect!

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

We have a super laundry household - carpenters, dogwalkers, students, Labrador puppy and a cat. Oftentimes, I've resorted to using a laundry sanitizer to clean out the smell of items. No more...the new lavender scent works so well that there is no need for additives or second rinses. Thank you for amping up the power and being considerate to the environment.

Sensitive Skin Detergent

By

from Baltimore MD

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

I was lucky enough to receive this detergent free to sample from Seventh Generation. I couldn't be happier with my new detergent. I have very sensitive skin and have tried several products that claim to be "free of perfumes and dyes" or "sensitive skin". I've spent hundreds on these detergents and come to find out such claims were false. This detergent is the real deal. I use this on my entire family's clothes. It works great on my husband's dirt ridden clothes and sensitive enough for my skin and my baby's skin. The price is competitive with other leading brands. I highly recommend you check this out for yourself!

Misleading scent!

By

from Seattle, WA, United States

Verified Buyer

Comments about Seventh Generation 150 oz. Natural Laundry Detergent:

Was looking forward to a genuine lavender scent in the Fresh Lavender,
but the lingering odor is the patchouli note. NOT what I had assumed. Should have read the detailed label ingredients! Happy with other scents and results in the brand's laundry line, but felt misled by this one.
